What is Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)?¶
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is a security system that requires users to provide multiple forms of identity verification to access an account or IT resources (such as machines, servers, or networks). Unlike traditional authentication, which typically relies solely on a password, MFA adds an extra layer of protection.

The verification factors can be of different types:
- Something you know: For example, your password.
- Something you have: Your phone, a smart card, or a physical token.
- Something you are: Physiological biometric data, such as your fingerprint, facial recognition, or voice, as well as behavioral biometrics, such as the way you use the keyboard or mouse.
To enhance security and improve the user experience during authentication, Neomia offers Pulse, a tool for multi-factor authentication that eliminates the need for additional devices by leveraging behavioral biometrics.
